FLAXSEED WHOLE GOLDEN
BOTANICAL NAME: Linum usitatissimum
Golden Flax seed, also known as Omega Flax is a new variety from North Dakota. It has been used for food in Europe, and increasingly in North America. Golden flax seed is pretty much identical to brown flax seed in its composition, except for the pigments in the seed coat.
The seeds are shiny, oval-shaped and golden yellow in color. Golden flax seed has: a high level of alpha linolenic/or Omega-3 fatty acid in its oil, a high content of both soluble and insoluble fiber. The nutty, palatable flavor of golden flax makes it suitable for all baked products.
